Mayor Macri says many judges work 'under extreme pressure'

City Mayor Mauricio Macri rejected the comments made by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in which she criticized judges for a "lack of efficiency," although he admitted that many magistrates "are working under extreme pressure."

"It's not fair for them to be criticized," he said.

Yesterday, Mrs. Fernández de Kirchner blasted the judges' alleged "lack of efficiency" in order to detain criminals.

However, even though the mayor rejected these comments, he admitted there are judges "performing under extreme pressure" that do not enforce the law because "they don't want to pay for the consequences of their actions."

Regarding the situation in the Alvariño Club in Villa Lugano, Mr. Macri explained that judge Daniel Rafecas "ordered for the area to be cleared and evict the illegal settlers residing in it," but the national government decided to ignore the order because "they did not agree with it."
