CFK inaugurates Néstor Kirchner Avenue in Santa Cruz
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner led the ceremony of inauguration for the Néstor Kirchner Avenue in the city of Río Gallegos, in the Santa Cruz province, honouring her late husband and the country's former president.
The ceremony was also part of celebrations for the 125th anniversary of the founding of Río Gallegos, Santa Cruz's capital. The avenue will be called "Presidente Dr. Néstor C. Kirchner."
The Head of State showed up dressed in black, and accompanied by his two sons, Máximo and Florencia, and shared the main stage with the Santa Cruz Governor Daniel Peralta, and the mayor of Rio Gallegos, Héctor Roquel.
Likewise, the new official flag for Río Gallegos was presented after being created during an open competition.
