Heatwave persists with highs of 35 degrees

A man tries to cool off by sitting next to a fountain at the Plaza de Mayo.

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) informed that the heat is to be felt in Buenos Aires city and provincial areas. Temperatures are set to reach a high of 35 degrees, but rain is expected for the evening.

The outlook for the weekend is slightly grey, with rainstorms predicted for Saturday and Sunday. It has been said that temperatures are to fall between 18 and 25 degrees. After the weekend, Monday is expected to be hot again.

Friday evening's showers are expected to take over the whole of Saturday and part of Sunday, with probable downpours and regular Southerly winds, possibly gusts.

Saturday's minimum temperature will be a modest 18 degrees and the maximum 24 degrees. Sunday is said to be similar, produced by the winds coming in from the south.
