Buenos Aires City Cabinet Chief Horacio Rodríguez Larreta spoke about the conflicts surrounding the taking-over of property in the city and nearby provincial areas at the city government's headquarters. He said: "we must be firm in order to avoid these takeovers." He also added that a peaceful resolution in Soldati is not yet guaranteed, adding that the demonstrators' health is at risk.
Rodríguez Larreta proposed the creation of a permanent committee to monitor these types of incidents.
"We cannot nor do we want to give away what belongs to the neighbours," said Larreta. At the beginning of his speech, he accused "organized groups" of being behind the takeover of property in different areas. "Anything that is not clarified ends up being a free pass for illegality," he said.
