'We must stand together in this crisis,' he said
Tuesday, December 14, 2010Duhalde says Argentina in 'semi-anarchic state,' urges gov't to enforce the law
Former President Eduardo Duhalde addressed the several land grabs taking place in the south of the city of Buenos Aires and assured that Argentina is currently going through a "semi-anarchic" state, for which "now more than ever," he's certain he will run for president in 2011.
"Argentina is going through a semi-anarchic state that must be left behind, not by shooting at people but through hard work. We won't be able to find a solution if we all fight each other. We must all stand together in this conflict," he explained.
The former head of state demanded the national government "to stop saying that they will not enforce the law, because that is extremely grave."
"This only encourages those in need to take matters into their own hands," he warned.
He then advised the government to "calm down and realized that they will not be able to solve their problems by blaming others."
"These problems cannot be solved immediately, but suggesting that the law will not be enforced makes citizens act outside of it."
