Seven days

By Michael Soltys / Senior Editor
FRIDAY. The Mercosur summit in Mendoza stresses the Venezuelan crisis far more than any agenda of the four original members. The International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (CIADI in its Spanish acronym) orders Argentina to pay the Spanish company Marsans US$320 million for the nationalisation of Aerolíneas Argentinas in 2008, when the price paid was one peso.
LAST WEEKEND.  Chaco provincial elections see a minimal swing against the ruling Peronists, who still have an 18-14 majority in the local legislature with one seat won by the Trotskyist PO Workers Party.
MONDAY.Intense lobbying against Kirchnerite deputy Julio De Vido and a rising dollar set the tone for the week.

TUESDAY.  INDEC statistics bureau posts 3.3 percent growth for May — the brightest figure it has announced during the Mauricio Macri presidency.

WEDNESDAY. Former Planning minister De Vido survives a 138-95 Lower House vote to oust him — short of the required two-thirds majority. A new record for the dollar (reaching 18.27 pesos on the “blue” market).

THURSDAY.Kirchnerite Central Bank director Pedro Biscay is bounced.
