Going topless to protest
Women baring their breasts in protest in front of the Obelisk last Wednesday at a “tetazo” (topless) demonstration. The protest was organised in response to an incident in January in which 20 police officers ordered female sunbathers at a beach in Necochea to cover their breasts. A judge later said that no police action was warranted. The activists at the Obelisk were protesting against double standards and for being discriminated on the basis of their sex.
