Gov't says income tax changes to be retrospective

Cabinet Chief Marcos Peña today assured that a bill the government is set to submit to Congress for discussion to modify the income tax scheme will be backdated to January 2017, suggesting it will be approved next year.

“The reduction we seek will be effective on January 1st,” Peña said in statements to a radio station.

Yesterday, Interior Minister Rogelio Frigerio confirmed the government will submit the bill to the Congress “within the next days.”
