Palm oil workers considered “correct” the wage hike union leaders secured after a 26-day salary negotiation that took Labour Minister Carlos Tomada and Economy Minister Axel Kicillof to take part in the talks seeking to unblock the conflict.

Secretary General of the Palm Oil Federation Daniel Yofra told media today that “the agreement was correct, after so many days of negotiations and that it why we lifted the protest actions in the ports and the activity is normalising.”

According to Yofra, the palm oil sector covers 20,000 workers across the country. The salary agreement sets an increase of 27.8 percent.
