Fein requests US to lift bank secrecy on alleged Nisman account

Prosecutor Viviana Fein, in charge of the investigation into the death of AMIA special prosecutor Alberto Nisman, requested today to ask the United States to lift the banking secrecy on an alleged banking account shared by the late investigator and his employee, Diego Lagomarsino, the owner of the gun that killed him and so far the only person charged in the case.

Judge Fabiana Palmaghini must decide whether to accept Fein’s plea. If that happens the Judge will have to submit the request to the Foreign Ministry.

The information about the alleged existence of a bank account in the United States, more precisely in Merryl Lynch, New York, was first revealed by Nisman’s ex wife, Judge Sandra Arroyo Salgado, and later ratified by his sister.
