New details on Luis Emilio Mitre's crime revealed

The El Expediente TV show that broadcasts on C5N news channel has revealed new information on the controversial death of La Nación newspaper shareholder Luis Emilio Mitre.

Mitre was found dead in 2005 in his La Recoleta neighborhood apartment, and his decease was surrounded by controversy from the start. Autopsies concluded he was chocked to death.

According to testimonies revealed today in El Expediente, the crime scene was “cleaned” and fake examinations were carried out.

One of the most shocking statements was the one by Ema Dreid, Luis Emilio’s housekeeper. According to Tomás González, former partner of Luis Emilio, the employee assures in a filed statement that after Mitre’s corpse was found, two “officers dressed as civilians showed up at the apartment and started moving things around.”

“They were moving things around, specific spots in the house, and asked where Mr Mitre kept his documents and money,” Ema Dreid said.

González added that Bartolomé Mitre, once he found out about the tragedy, “called the newspaper [La Nación] to tell them how to react to the incident instead of calling the police.”

“This cover-up operation has nothing to do with Luis Emilio’s private life. It has to do with something else,” he said.
