The letter sent to US congressmen by Argentine ambassador to Washington Cecilia Nahón ratifies the country’s position in the AMIA case and the investigation into the death of prosecutor Alberto Nisman, which is a “memory, truth and justice” stance, the head of ministers has said.

“The ambassador has sent to each member of the Congress of the United States, all 435 congressmen, plus 100 senators, a letter in which she sets the Argentine position; on one hand, accepting the condolences for the disappearance of prosecutor Alberto Nisman and at the same time establishing clearly the Argentine position, tied to the principle of memory, truth and justice,” Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich said this morning addressing media at the Buenos Aires City Jorge Newberry Airport.

“Argentina has always expressed a very clear position to allow the identifications of the guilty and their punishment,” Capitanich insisted.

In her letter, Ambassador Nahón reaffirmed the government’s “constant search for memory, truth and justice” and its “commitment with the fight against terrorism and international impunity.”
