Subway line B reopens after wildcat strike

Line B of the Buenos Aires subway system has resumed normal service, after a wildcat strike measure from workers on the branch shut down trains this morning.

Metrovías informed that the line, which runs from Leandro N. Alem station in the City centre up to Juan Manuel de Rosas, in Villa Urquiza, fell victim to the stoppage after a one-day suspension was handed down to one of the Subte drivers on the service.

According to the Subte operators, the driver did not have the necessary security equipment to work, but the suspension led colleagues to paralyse the "B" on the last day of 2014.

Just before 11am, the company confirmed that the service had "returned to normal", apologising for the inconvenience caused to travellers.

According to the Subte operators, the driver did not have the necessary security equipment to work, but the suspension led colleagues to paralyse the "B" on the last day of 2014.

Due to ongoing engineering works, today is the last day of activity on the line before it shuts down from January 1-4.
