CFK to UK: ‘Dialogue like the US did with Cuba’

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner called the UK government ‘to sit and dialogue’ over the Malvinas Islands’ dispute, and gave as an example the agreement reached yesterday between the United States and Cuba.

After a series of announcements from the Government House, the head of state proceeded by prising the understanding which may conclude with a gradual removal of the US embargo over Cuba.

In that sense, Fernández de Kirchner turned to Prime Minister David Cameron and urged his administration “to sit and dialogue, like the US did yesterday with Cuba”.

The president considered that December 17 should be declared “the day of the dignity of the people who did not surrounded,” as she emphasized the roll of Pope Francis in the process.

Earlier, Mrs. Kirchner unveiled several public works in different provinces, like the renewal of the train line from Buenos Aires City to Mar del Plata, and the purification of the Reconquista River in Formosa.

Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich, Economy Minister Axel Kicillof and Industrial Minister Debora Giorgi accompanied Fernández de Kirchner during the announcements.
