In his daily message to the press, Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich dismissed what he called “eventual perspectives” of looting, considering that talking about the issue was to make a “defence of crime.”

“Any looting (event) is a crime.” the head of ministers told reporters this morning adding the federal government had no “perspectives” of “eventual” violent incidents taking place in the upcoming months. According to Capitanich, there is “no circumstance” that could “promote” such crimes.

ver the past weeks, opposition figures - mainly anti-kirchnerite union leaders -, made some controversial public statements forecasting chaos for the end of the year, comments that government officials and President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner herself strongly repudiated, accusing opposition sectors of seeking to promote social unrest.
