CTA's Yasky blasts UIA's Méndez for ‘defending speculators’
The head of pro-government CTA splinter group Hugo Yasky criticised the absence of Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) leader Héctor Méndez at yesterday’s Wage Council. “(Méndez’s) attitude favours market freedom, in defense of speculators,” Yasky said.
The CTA head blasted Méndez for “defending speculators by asking for the parallel dollar” and said it makes him “unsuitable” for meetings like the one celebrated yesterday by the Wage Council, where a 31% salary rise was agreed.
The pro-government unionist praised the Council’s resolution and pointed out that the minimum wage will be 4,761 in January 2015, a figure close to the one claimed by CTA (4,800 pesos).
