Transport and Interior minister Florencio Randazzo blamed two unionists for the vandalism on the Sarmiento railway line during today’s national strike while announcing that criminal charges were filed.

According to Randazzo several train wagons were damaged, as he identified opposition unionist leader Rubén ‘Pollo’ Sobrero’s men as responsible for the wreckage.

In consequence, he instructed to file a motion for charges of vandalism against the involved.

“We will request the firing of all those who were involved, and a preventive suspension by Interior Ministry Human Resources department as well,” Randazzo said.

“We filed a complaint and a preventive measure before a Federal Court which will depend on the judge,” he added, while considering the process will take “up to 30 days to be resolved”.

The minister revealed he met earlier President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in order to brief her about the events.

“My commitment is for the passengers. I work everyday to fulfil that goal,” Randazzo concluded.
