Gov't vows to 'monitor' RR Donnelley bankruptcy to guarantee jobs
Cabinet chief Jorge Capitanich referred to the situation of bankrupted RR Donnelley printing firm workers and pledged the “necessary monitoring” to guarantee the sources of work.
“There are different solutions in hand,” Capitanich said in reference to the fate of the over 400 workers that found themselves unexpectedly laid off on August 11. “Cooperativization although not recommended (…) is an option. Another one is to evaluate the offers for the continuity of production,” he explained.
The chief of ministers said in his daily press briefing at government house that the government is working with the Printing Industry Federation towards the preservation of jobs. He pointed out that the company’s plant and equipment in the Garín district of Buenos Aires Province remains in “optimal conditions.”
