Economic activity stagnant in June
The INDEC statistics bureau has revealed Argentine economic activity held steady in June compared to the same month of 2013.
Nevertheless, according to the Monthly Economic Activity Estimator (EMAE) released by the state-run agency, economic activity rose 0.3 percent compared to May.
Two of the most negatively affected areas of the economy are industry and construction. Industrial activity accumulates a one-year inter-annual EMAE drop, mainly because of the production decrease in the automobile sector. Meanwhile, construction registered its fifth consecutive monthly decline.
