Semester ends with fiscal surplus, deficit registered in June
During the first six months of 2014 the fiscal surplus reached 2.2 billion pesos, although in June a primary budget deficit estimated in 286.6 million pesos was recorded.
“Tax revenue in June rose 55.6 percent in comparison with the same period of 2013, while primary spending increased 56.5 percent, as result of consumption spending and transactions into the private sector”, the Economy Ministry expressed in its report.
June’s deficit hit 16.6 billion pesos, as the difference within the primary surplus comes from debt payments.
