Capitanich to oil provinces: ‘No one is saved alone’
Following the rejection of Chubut province legislature of the oil and gas bill drafted by the national government, and with Neuquén province to follow the same path, Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich said the project is “fully compatible” with the country’s “energy self-supply strategy”.
“The Executive’s proposals are fully compatible with the energy self-supply strategy," Capitanich stressed in his daily press briefing at government house. The official said, nonetheless, that "the provinces' considerations can be analyzed,” Capitanich said
The Kirchnerite official stressed that with this bill, the national government seeks to “create the conditions to combine national and provincial interests in order to maximize production volumes and achieve energy self-supply”.
“The government’s proposal is clear: no one is saved alone. Either we fix it together or no one will,” Capitanich said.
