Thousands visit Saint Cajetan sanctuary
Worshippers of Saint Cajetan have flocked to the Italian priest's sanctuary in the City neighbourhood of Liniers, in order to thank him for the bread and work they received during the last year.
Buenos Aires auxiliary Bishop, Monsignor Eduardo García, blessed the pilgrims after opening the gates of the sanctuary at midnight.
At 11 am, the Cardinal Primate of Argentina, Monsignor Mario Aurelio Poli led the main mass and remarked the arrival of people “who come from their own will”.
“Some come to ask for something, but the majority arrives in order to thank Saint Cajetan,” Poli assured, while emphasizing the saint “hear us all, without discriminating anyone.”
Today's celebration carried the motto: “With Saint Cajetan we celebrate God’s compassion with the neediest”.
