Capitanich praises 'recognition' to Estela de Carlotto's 'struggle'
Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich has praised what he called a “huge recognition” of Estela de Carlotto’s “struggle” in the finding of her grandson Guido.
“It has to do with the vindication of a historic struggle. I feverously join what the Argentinean people are demonstrating, which is a profound jubilation and recognition to Estela de Carlotto,” the head of ministers told reporters this morning while holding his daily press conference at the government house.
Holding a press conference yesterday to confirm her grandson’s finding, Estela de Carlotto said Presidnet Cristina Fernández de Kirchner called her to celebrate the news. “We cried together,” Ms. Carlotto stated.
Since taking office in 2003, the Kirchnerite administration has upheld human rights as a state policy with amnesty laws protecting the military that were responsible for human rights violations committed during the country’s 1976-1983 dictatorship being derogated.
