Julio Cortázar + Charlie Parker

Centro Cultural General San Martín (Sarmiento 1551, 4374-1251). 8.30pm. Free admission limited to capacity, tickets can be picked up two hours before the show.

After performing in Europe, the Néstor Astarita, Porteño Jazz Cuarteto group pays tribute to late writer Julio Cortázar, who loved jazz, in Julio Cortázar + Charlie Parker = El Perseguidor, as part of Jazzología season.

Fragments of Cortázar’s works read by Luis Garibotti blended with Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and Dizzy Gillespie’s music.

The show also features some poetry porteña with tango played by Edgardo Castrón.

With Carlos Michelini on sax and flute, Pablo Raposo on piano and Pablo Tozzi on double bass, guitar, arrangements and vocals, Néstor Astarita on drums and percussion and dance and Carola Faverio on dance.
