As cold wave nears, BA City soaks in rain
The City of Buenos Aires is being hit by heavy rains and lightning storms since today’s early morning, expected to last till the evening. Weather, however, will not grant locals and residents across the country relief as they ready to brace for a strong cold wave starting tonight.
According to the Buenos Aires Central Observatory (OC), the recorded rainfall so far in the Argentine capital has been of 15 millimeters. An OC spokesman was quoted by Argentina’s state-run news agency saying the storm started at 1 am on Tuesday reaching 15 millimeters between that time and 6 am.
As Argentineans mark the first week of the winter recess, averaged-temperatures have been of 20 C°. But the spring-like period that started this weekend will be ending today with the beginning of the polar wave.
