CFK travels to Brazil for BRICS meeting

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner flew this afternoon to Brasilia, where she will take part in a meeting scheduled between members of the bloc and the Unasur organisation.

Cristina left Río Gallegos airport at 5pm, and is expected to land in the Brazilian capital shortly before midnight. The head of state had arrived in the Patagonian city, in the province of Santa Cruz, yesterday in order to celebrate the first birthday of grandson Néstor Iván.

Another plane is scheduled to leave Buenos Aires later with the rest of the committee that will accompany the president in Brazil, including foreign minister Héctor Timerman and Economy and Industry ministers Axel Kicillof and Débora Giorgi.
