Judge Bonadío postpones Boudou's hearing
Federal Judge Claudio Bonadío granted Vicepresident Amado Boudou’s request to postpone a hearing in the criminal probe he faces for alleged irregularities in the purchase of an Honda CRX vehicle in 1992.
The judge rescheduled the hearing for July, 23 at 10.30 a.m. and warned the Vicepresident that if he failed to attend, he would encourage his impeachement in Congress.
This is the second postponement Boudou has been granted in this probe. This time he argued that he was unable to attend the questionning because he was to act as acting president while President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner traveled to Brazil to attend the BRICS summit.
The probe started in 2009 after María Taboada de Piñero, an official at the National Automobile Registry denounced the Vicepresident for altering the engine number and irregularities in the files and signatures of a transferral request for the vehicle.
This probe comes after Boudou’s indictment by Judge Ariel Lijo in Ciccone corruption probe.
