Argentine fans arrived in the streets of Río de Janeiro early today to start cheering for the national team in the eve of today’s final against Germany at the Maracaná.
Over 100,000 fans have arrived in the past few days, with over 9,000 passengers leaving from Ezeiza and Aeroparque airports in Buenos Aires since Friday. About 40 flights to Río took off from these airports in the last three days.
Only 4,461 of the fans were able to buy official FIFA tickets for the match. Some wandered the streets of Río looking for tickets, while others headed to the fan fest facility in Copacabana, to get good seats to watch the game.
