‘We have more thirst for glory than the Germans’
In the eve of the World Cup final, Argentine icon Diego Maradona expressed his optimism about Argentina’s chances to earn its third trophy, saying the national team has “more thirst for glory” than its rivals.
“I believe we have more thirst for glory than the Germans,” Maradona said during his TV show De Zurda, in Río de Janeiro.
He also called the team to “help [Lionel] Messi bring us the World Cup”.
Maradona had previously sent a message to the world number one player: “This is your game,” he had said, “you are going to score twice and we are going to earn the Cup at the Maracaná”.
