US dollar trades steady at 8.16 pesos, 'blue' dollar unchanged at 12 pesos

The US dollar closed unchanged at Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices at 8.16 pesos, after a bank worker’s walk-out on Tuesday and the Independence Day holiday yesterday.

The Central Bank managed to buy 80 million dollars on Tuesday, raising its reserves by 7 million dollars, totalling 29,542 million dollars.

Meanwhile, in the parallel market the so-called “blue” dollar traded unchanged at 12 pesos.

The blue-chip swap exchange rate fell back to 9.92 pesos, while the stock exchange rate went down to 10.79 pesos.
