Argentina arrive in Sao Paulo ready to face the Netherlands
Argentina's national team arrived in Sao Paulo today, where it will face the Netherlands tomorrow at the Corinthians Arena for the World Cup semi-final.
The team will be staying at the Grand Mercure hotel, near Parque Ibirapuera, the city’s main green area.
Coach Alejandro Sabella will give a press conference this afternoon -between 18.30 and 19.30- after the team trains at the Corinthians Arena.
The names of the 23 that will represent the ‘Albiceleste’ in the semi-final remain an open question. Winger Ángel Di María has been ruled out after suffering a “grade one” muscle injury in the quarterfinal match against Belgium, while striker Sergio “Kun” Agüero has been cleared to play after recovering from a muscle strain.
Argentina and the Netherland will face tomorrow at 17 for a place in the final. The winner will play against either Brazil or Germany, who are fighting for their ticket to the final this afternoon in Belo Horizonte.
Sabella’s team will be trying to end a 24-year wait for a place in the World Cup final tomorrow, while Louis van Gaal's Dutch side are one win from being in the showpiece game for the second time in a row having lost the 2010 decider 1-0 to Spain.
