Panamericana picket results in violent clashes
Workers of the Lear auto-parts company along with leftist organizations blocked the Panamericana highway this morning in a picket that resulted in clashes with the military police. The road has been cleared following more than two hours of traffic nightmare.
At around 7 am today, the group of demonstrators protesting over the dismissal of Lear’s employees started to block the Panamericana highway at the level of the Buenos Aires province locality of Pacheco. Seeking to clear the road, gendarmes approached the area resulting in violent clashes with protesters.
Almost simultaneously, other groups launched a picket at the Puente Pueyrredón bridge that connects the City of Buenos Aires with southern BA province, prompting traffic chaos during rush hour.
