Higuaín: ‘I knew the goal would come’

Higuaín celebrates his goal versus Belgium.

Forward Gonzalo Higuaín scored the decisive goal against Belgium, after 4 World Cup games with no goals. The Napoli attacker said he knew he would have an opportunity to score.

“I knew the goal would come,” Higuaín told reporters after the game.

“Luckily for us, the goal came in a very important game, and that’s what counts. These are the kind of goals that matter.”

Higuaín said the key mind sent for him was to stay calm and wait for an opportunity to arise.

“I’m happy for the people, for my teammates. It’s been a long time since we reach the semis. Today we could accomplish that,” he concluded.
