Bomb threat against Jewish sites

The Federal Police have stepped up security around Jewish institutions across the City amid reports of bomb threats just two weeks before the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the AMIA headquarters that killed 85 people and injured 300 more. All police stations with Jewish schools, clubs, associations, synagogues and other related buildings in their jurisdiction were given orders to increase the number of police on patrol in the streets, the Noticias Argentinas news agency revealed. “The number of bomb threats has increased over the past few weeks,” a police official said. “We believe this can be attributed to the international context, with the tension between Palestinians and Israelis, which have escalated recently.”
