Senate opposition blocs urge Boudou to take leave
The Senate today deliberated on Radical party’s and UNEN Broad Front’s request for Vicepresident –and President of the Senate- Amado Boudou to take a leave after his indictement in the Ciccone corruption case.
“He has to step back, if he truly is at the disposal of the Judiciary,” Radical party leader Gerardo Morales stated. “It will be good for him, but more importantly, for the country”.
UNEN’s Rubén Giustiniani in turn said his bloc shares the request, and said that the vicepresident should take a leave “so that Judiciary can act freely”.
Meanwhile, the Federal Peronism opposition bloc took the request a step further and called for an impeachment after the vicepresident’s indictement.
