US dollar trades steady at 8.15 pesos, ‘blue’ dollar falls back to 12.05 pesos
The US dollar closed steady in Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices at 8.15 pesos with the Central Bank yesterday purchasing u$s90 million. Agro exporters sold off uSs760 million last week reaching more than u$Ss13 billion since the beginning of the year.
Despite recent news about Argentina’s dispute with vulture funds over the country’s defaulted bonds, the official market remain steady in the past days. Still, traders say companies are watching over the negotiation scenario with talks scheduled to start on Monday 7.
Meanwhile, in the informal market, the so called “blue” dollar fell back by 10 cents to 12.05 pesos.
The blue-chip swap exchange rate in turn went up to 10.15 pesos, while the stock exchange rate climbed to 11.18 pesos.
