‘Boudou, Macri treated unequally by media and opposition leaders’

Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich said that the judicial situation of the Vicepresident Amado Boudou is the same as that of BA City Mayor Mauricio Macri, both of them are indicted in criminal cases but he said that the media and opposition leaders give “inequitable, unequal treatment” to the cases.

“The case of BA City Mayor is exactly the same [as Boudou’s] and yet it is nonexistent in newspapers and the audivisual media,” Capitanich stressed in his daily press briefing at Government House. He pointed out the existence of an “inequitable, unequal treatment” of both cases.

The Kirchnerite official also bashed opposition leaders that express their “rage” about Boudou’s indictement, saying they are not that furious when it comes to the legal situation of Macri or National Lawmakers Oscar Aguad and Federico Sturzenegger.

UCR’s Aguad has been indicted for its time as interventor in Corrientes province, while PRO’s Sturzenegger was acquitted last week after being indicted in the “mega-swap” case that involved former president Fernando De la Rúa and ex Economy Minister Domingo Cavallo.

Capitanich declined to comment further on Boudou’s situation. “I am Cabinet Chief, not criminal lawyer to comment on the judge’s decision,” he said. “Everything that needed to be said has already been said,” he stressed.
