Russian President Putin to visit Argentina in July

Russian president Vladímir Putin today announced he will visit Buenos Aires in July as part of a broader Latin American trip that will also take him to the Maracaná stadium, in Brazil, on July 13 to watch the Wolrd Cup finale. Putin will meet with his Argentine counterpart Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to discuss issues regarding  energy, defense and heavy equipment.

"Argentina is one of ouy key partners in Latin America," Putin said today as he presented in Moscow the credentials of 14 diplomats, among them, the newly appointed Argentine Ambassador to Russia, Pablo Anselmo Tettamanti.

The exact date of the visit was not unveiled yet but the Russian head of state said he seeks to "debate all the current issues of the international and bilateral agenda" and to discuss projects regarding the energy "including the atomic energy, the heavy equipment industry and the technical-military cooperation."
