‘Blue’ dollar climbs after fall-back, official steady

The US dollar closed unchanged today in banks and exchange offices in Buenos Aires City, trading at 8.15 pesos.

Meanwhile, in the informal market, the so-called “blue” dollar climbed 20 cents in the afternoon to 11.80 pesos, after a 60-cents fall back yesterday, pushed down by the ongoing negotiations between the Argentine government and the holdouts, according to analysts.

The blue-chip swap exchange rate in turn went up to 10.12 pesos, while the stock exchange rate was up to at 10.87 pesos.

The Central Bank kept a close eye on the currency market, purchasing 150 million dollars after higher activity from cereal producers.
