Today marks coldest day in the year
Only two days ahead of the beginning of winter, Argentineans have already started to suffer harsh temperatures, hitting the lowest peak so far this year today. Minimum temperatures in the City of Buenos Aires reached 4.2 C° yesterday’s morning.
The freezing cold is the result of an air mass on its way from southern Patagonia that has been affecting the country’s central areas since Friday last week pushing degrees even lower these days. For today, the minimum temperature is expected at 1C° and the maximum at 13C°.
“Although cold air will be moving in in the whole national territory, temperatures are likely to go up as for Sunday with a minimum of 7-8 C° and a maximum of around 16C°, as the circulation of winds will change,” Miriam Andrioli, a meteorologist at the National Meteorological Service (SMN), explained.
On Wednesday, the city of Bahía Blanca in the province of Buenos Aires marked the lowest mark at -2.3 C° at 5 am.
