US dollar steady at 8.15 pesos, 'blue' dollar up to 12.40 pesos
With all eyes focused on Argentina’s legal dispute against vulture funds, the so called “blue” dollar closed 10 cents higher at 12.40 pesos, hitting a 85-cent hike over the week.
Yesterday, the informal market rate ended 10 cents higher at 12.30 pesos, closing before the news that Argentina had offered US Judge Thomas Griesa to open negotiations with holdouts was known.
Gap with the official rate was reaching 53 percent.
Meanwhile, the US dollar at Buenos Aires City banks and foreign exchange offices closed steady at 8.15 pesos.The blue-chip swap dollar was unchanged at 10.51 pesos and the stock exchange dollar was higher at 11.76 pesos.
