Gov’t to release public statement after US top court verdict
Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich called for prudence and refused to make comments on the imminent US Supreme Court holdout ruling on Argentina’s appeal of rulings requiring it to pay the holdout bondholders back in full, expected for today at 10.30 a.m.
“We deem it prudent not to make any comments until the Court rules,” Capitanich said in his daily press briefing at Government House. He explained that once the verdict is heard, the Economy Ministry will release a public statement.
The judges began to deliberate behind closed doors last Thursday and the decision is to be taken by simple majority by the conference of the nine judges who made up the Court.
