Ex president Menem summoned to testify on son's death
Current senator Carlos Saúl Menem and his brother Eduardo have been summoned to court to testify on the death of the ex president’s son.
According to judicial sources, Federal Judge Carlos Villafuerte Ruzo decided to call Menem after his ex wife Zulema Yoma said he confessed to her the death of their son had been part of an attack and that he was shot in the head.
It is expected that the senator presents a written note while his brother Eduardo has been summoned for Thursday 19.
Judge Ruzo would be also ordering a report to a group of MPs on alleged money laundering activities involving Argentina’s former head of state.
The investigation on money laundering follows statements by the ex lover of the late Colombian drug cartel lord Pablo Escobar Gaviria who said such activities were the true reason behind the death of Carlitos when he crashed his private helicopter back in 1995.
