Argentine team touches down in Belo Horizonte ahead of World Cup
Luis María Kreckler, the Argentine ambassador to Brazil, was present to greet the 'Albiceleste' in the capital of the state of Minas Gerais as they touched down at 7.30pm. From the airport, the squad was transported to the Cidade de Galo training complex, which will house them during the tournament.
The side, who left from Buenos Aires in an Aerolíneas Argentinas plane specially decorated for Alejandro Sabella's men, play their first match on June 15 in Rio de Janeiro's Estadio Maracaná, against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Prior to flying, the squad gathered for a final training session on Argentine soil at the Ezeiza facilities, where Lionel Messi and Co. were not alone.
Thousands of Argentina fans congregated from early in the day at Ezeiza to give their team an emotional send-off, as they accompanied players from the training complex to the nearby Ministro Pistarini International Airport.
