MADRID — The charity soccer matches which Barcelona star Lionel Messi participated during 2012 and 2013 in six American countries are under judicial suspicion, newspaper El País said on its website yesterday.
The Civil Guard is investigation five banking transfers for almost one million euros from the organizers of two of those charity matches to the tax haven of Curacao (South Caribean).
El País added that some notes suggest that the money was transferred to “G.Marín-Messi.” Guillermo Marín is the man who Messi put in charge to organize the charity matches, called “Messi and friends against rest of the world.”
