Argentine alternative squad beat Slovenia 2-0
In the last Albiceleste warm up match before the World Cup debut, Alejandro Sabella’s alternative squad beat Slovenia 2-0 at Estadio Único in La Plata.
The first goal was scored by midfielder Ricky Álvarez at 12 minutes of the first half, after the former Vélez Sarsfield stole the ball from the Slovenian side and shot from outside the penalty area to open the score.
During the second half, the Argentine coach called for Messi, Di María, Agüero and Gago to enter the pitch.
Following a great play by Di María and Agüero, Messi increased the difference at 20 minutes of the second half, sealing the victory for the Argentine side.
Argentina will debut in the World Cup against Bosnia, on Sunday 15 in Río de Janeiro.
