US dollar rises to 8.11 pesos; 'blue' higher

The US dollar today closed one cent higher at 8.11 pesos in banks and exchange offices as market analysts estimated around 100 million dollars was liquidated by grain exporters daily, boosting Central Bank reserves.

The entity bought 20 million dollars in the day's trading, while reserves were pushed up 31 million to end at 28.62 bn dollars.

In the informal market, the so called "blue" dollar was 10 cents higher today at 11.50 pesos after plunging 30 cents on Friday amid low demand from retail customers.
