Tax revenues hit new record in May

The Federal Public Incomes Administration (AFIP) has revealed that tax revenues for the month of May hit a total of 105.07bn pesos, 35 percent higher than the same month last year and a record for the entity.

AFIP head Ricardo Echegaray announced the latest figures today in a press conference. Financial intermediation service incomes, which grew a total of 37 percent, and the manufacturing industry (23.1%) were among the sectors which saw the highest inter-annual increases.

"This figure represents a landmark in revenues. It is the first time that the 100bn peso mark has been broken," Echegaray told reporters present at the conference.

Income taxes also saw a sharp rise, increasing 38.6 percent from May 2013 to reach a total of 29.25bn pesos. Exportation permits raised 8.79bn pesos, a rise of 62.8 percent on last year.

"We have observed a significant growth in sales abroad of soy pellets and flour, of vegetable oil seeds (95.4%) and in cereals, at 145%)," the AFIP chief underlined.

The total revenue for 2013 has reached 447.99bn pesos, 29.1 percent up on the first five months of 2013.
