US dollar rises to 8.10 pesos

The US dollar closed half a cent higher today in banks and exchange offices trading at 8.10 pesos as market analysts estimate around 140 million dollars are being liquidated by grain exporters on a daily basis, boosting Central Bank reserves.

In the informal market, the so called "blue" dollar was steady today after plunging 30 cents on Friday to end at 11.40 pesos amid low demand from retail customers.

Meanwhile, the stock exchange dollar rate traded at 10.97 pesos on Friday and the blue-chip swap rate ended down at 10.88 pesos.
