CFK inaugurates train monitoring unit in Retiro
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, accompanied by Interior and Transport Minister Florencio Randazzo, led the inauguration of a train monitoring unit in Retiro, Buenos Aires City.
“We are very proud of being able to show this place,” expressed the head of state, while adding that “it represents a very important investment by the government.”
After inspecting the facilities, Fernández de Kirchner remarked the use of “technology and social networks, not only to communicate between us but to help each other out.”
Referring to recent vandalism case which involved two kids who painted graffiti on two wagons, Fernández de Kirchner instructed authorities to add a phone number, where train passengers will be able to denounce acts of vandalism inside the train formations.
The new monitoring centre has hi-tech equipment, in order to bring more security to the national train service.
